No matter which beachside community you visit along Scenic Route 30A, you won’t find a shortage of fantastic dining and shopping experiences. Most of these communities were designed and developed to provide residents and visitors with easy access by foot to not only the beach but also to going out to eat and shopping. There’s a shop to accommodate every budget, and a restaurant to please any palette. Each seaside town brings its own unique flair and style where you can uncover treasures not found anywhere else. Oh, and don’t forget, 30A also boasts some of the best ice creams spots because what’s summer in 30A without ice cream?  

Read on for a list of fun shops and dining spots along Scenic Route 30A.

Seaside is a beautiful beach town with plenty of great shops, restaurants and good vibes.  Start your shopping by strolling through the Seaside Farmer’s Market, a small but mighty market where you can some of the best food items in 30A including local honey, wonderful baked goods, fresh produce, nuts and hot foods. For a stellar sit-down dinner, be sure to check out the Great Southern Café, in Central Square. Stop by the Fusion Art Glass Gallery and check out the beautiful glass work of over 150 North American artists. If you forgot your beach book, visit Sundog Books, a family-owned bookstore with a large selection of children and teen books and specialty gifts.  

If you’re into all things boutique, then head over to Rosemary Beach. Hissyfits Boutique at Rosemary Beach offers a wide variety of eclectic gifts, jewelry and home décor. Willow Boutique features easy to wear unique styles for every occasion and also have locations in Aly Beach, and Inlet Beach. For bath and body items, visit Pish Posh Patchouli’s and indulge in wide range of top brand skin care, fragrances, candles, oil diffusers and restorative remedies. Or book a day at the Spa at Vivo Day Spa & Salon and treat yourself to a relaxing massage, facial or a refreshing body treatment, all in unique tropical setting.  

For a wide selection of restaurants featuring local cuisine and seafood, your best bet is Blue Mountain Beach. Here you’ll find Blue Mabel Smokehouse & Provisions, a local gem offering American, bar and barbeque fare. For seafood lovers, consider the Hurricane Oyster Bar, The Local Catch Bar & Grill, Red Fish Taco, or Café Tango. For a more casual laid back vibe, don’t miss Seagrove Village MarketCafé, where you can order their legendary grouper sandwich or try Stinky’s Fish Camp, in Dune Allen, where you can select fresh seafood from their Cajun menu with items such as a catfish dish or their baked oyster log!

If you’re craving something sweet, there are tons of amazing ice creams shops to choose from along route 30A. Moo La La Ice Cream & Fudge at Seascape Town Centre, is an ice cream parlor known for their 24 flavors of ice cream, specialty sundaes, shakes, and incredible homemade fudge. Their fudge recipe was voted as one of the top five in the country and their waffle cones and chocolates are made fresh daily. In Seaside, Heavenly Shortcakes & Ice Cream serves classic Blue Bell ice cream, organic gelatos, strawberry shortcakes, and gourmet cookies. Located in Grand Boulevard in Miramar Beach, Kilwins Chocolates, Fudge, & Ice Cream is considered one of the best sweet shops in South Walton. They serve super premium ice cream, hand-dipped caramel apples, caramel corn, fudge, candy, and handcrafted chocolates.  

If you’re looking for that perfect souvenir, there’s are a host of gift shops throughout the the16 beach communities of South Walton. In Miramar Beach, make sure to visit Alvin’s Island, a popular tropical shop, or Paradise Found, home to locally-inspired gifts and novelty t-shirts. Tour the pedestrian friendly Uptown Grayton, and explore the many gift shops, and small boutique along the way. For the little ones on your list, try See Seaside Kids, where you can find bright children’s clothes and apparel, as well as fun toys and specialty gifts.
