During the COVID-19 quarantine, restaurants around the country are pivoting to meet their customers’ new needs. From online ordering to contactless delivery, more and more places are finding new ways to stay in business and adjust to the new normal. While takeout food orders and grab and go places were always a 30A staple because beachgoers love a quick pick up, they’ve found a renewed popularity as quarantiners experience serious kitchen burnout.

We’ve scoured the area for the best takeout, grab and go places and restaurants with special COVID-19 offerings such as contactless pickup, special deal, etc. Many of them were also our favorites pre-coronavirus for beach picnic food and epic charcuterie boards. Now they make the list for different reasons. Here are some of our favorite picks:

Modica Market

This iconic Seaside store is popular amongst locals and visitors alike. Modica Market has long been the perfect place to pick up fresh deli selections, wine, craft beer and unique foodie finds. This gourmet grocery is still bringing us the very best fine foods during quarantine. Offering gourmet-to-go meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and dessert, there’s a selection for everyone to enjoy from soups and salads to sandwiches and pie. Don’t forget to check out the wonderful, extensive selection of craft beer and wine.

Blue Mountain Bakery

The best thing about ordering from Blue Mountain Bakery during the coronavirus pandemic is you’ll be helping those in need. For every meal purchased from their family meal deal menu, a meal is donated to someone who needs it. Frittatas, casseroles and family dinner packages with key lime butter shrimp or meatloaf – and that’s just the beginning. If you’re craving breakfast comfort food, Blue Mountain Bakery has breakfast burritos or a full breakfast meal with choices like scones, cinnamon rolls and more. Carry out and delivery options are available in Santa Rosa Beach.

Sally’s by the Sea Store

This local Santa Rosa Beach convenience store is a great stop for any must-have items between grocery store trips like wine, beer, ice, snacks, soda and ice cream. They also have great sandwiches and breakfast biscuits for a quick, stress-free meal at an affordable price. Their chicken salad and fried chicken are two must-try favorites.

Freshii

Freshii has long been on our radar as one of our favorite health-conscious quick stops. This counter-serve chain serves soups, burritos and tossed-to-order salads. You can customize almost everything on the menu. On the menu, you’ll see: steak egg and cheese burritos, ranchero burritos, green eggs and kale, cali smoothie bowls, bacon, egg and cheese pockets, hard boiled eggs and Greek yogurt parfaits – and that’s just breakfast selections! It’s the perfect place to grab a quick bite without the calories of traditional fast food.

Destin Ice Market

Destin Ice Market used to be the perfect place to gather a stash of gourmet picnic and finger foods before heading to the 30A beaches or throwing a tasteful cocktail party. Now it’s an essential business with all your stay at home pick-me-ups from a wide selection of fine hard and soft cheeses to housemade soups, sauces and dips. Make your own socially distant party with a killer charcuterie board. You’ll also find flatbreads, smoked salmon, truffles, pasta, premium wine, champagne, port, ice cream, specialty chocolate candies, fresh bread and more.
