30A is one of the best places in Florida to go for a family vacation. From white sandy beaches to quaint bike rides through the seaside villages, it’s the ideal place to relax and unwind together. Stunning luxury vacation rentals are a cozy home away from home and many are so charming you’ll have trouble leaving. While many adults are content to kick back on the beach for endless summer days, often children are looking for more adventure in their vacation. 30A has the perfect balance of both to keep the whole family entertained this summer. Here are some of our favorite family activities along 30A:

Biking Along 30A

More than just a fun family activity, biking is the most popular form of transportation in the area and the best way to get around. 30A bike rental companies make it easy to find the right setup for your family, whether you’re looking to ride tandem or need a special place for the little ones to ride. Be sure to book in advance as special outfits can go quickly. Enjoy a bike to the local ice cream shop for a midday cooldown or cruise the neighborhood on the way to the beach.

Looking for a full day of family biking? There are plenty of amazing bike trails to explore together. The 19-mile Timpoochee Trail is paved and easy to navigate. It takes you through many 30A towns. Make a stop at the picture-perfect central square in Seaside, grab a bite to eat at one of the many delicious local eateries, catch sight of the area’s one-of-a-kind sand dunes and get to know what makes 30A so unique. Along the trail, you’ll pass Topsail Hill Preserve with many additional miles of hiking trails to explore. The possibilities are endless!

30A Beaches

If you come to 30A, you know the secret: we’ve got the best beaches ever! Setting aside enough beach time is essential for your family summer vacation. While the kids may not want to lay out sun bathing, they will enjoy one of the many popular beach activities like building sandcastles, tossing a ball or boogie boarding. Consider some beach rentals like a shady spot for the family to stay cool or a kayak or paddleboard to add some extra fun.

Summer is the most popular time of the year to visit 30A. It’s also the peak season for great activities for kids. Camp Rosemary is an amazing day camp for kids to make new friends, learn more about nature and play like crazy. Goodbye, boredom! Beach expeditions, pool games, arts and crafts, sports, swimming, Camp Rosemary does it all. The program is available for children 5-12.

Ziplines and Ropes Courses

Baytowne Adventure Zone is a favorite for kids. Here they combine exercise, fun and adventure into something unique your children will look forward to. This is the place to bounce, climb, zip line and navigate various rope courses. There are four bungee trampolines for the kids to catch some air, do some flips and get their energy out. Have the kids race to the top of the climbing tower or take on the Baytowne Golf Challenge. It’s in an area with lots of shops and restaurants so it’s really a one-stop day of things for everyone to enjoy.

Outdoor Movie Night

Don’t miss the Seaside outdoor movie night. Spread a blanket, or bring some chairs to the Seaside Amphitheater lawn. Check the movie schedule online as movies and dates vary. In June, movie nights are every Friday night. The 30A event calendar will also keep you up to date on upcoming events like children’s concerts and weekly farmers' markets.

Summer Surf School

Austin Magee’s Surf School takes place every summer in Seaside, FL. Lessons are available for ages five and up, as long as participants are able to swim unassisted and comfortable in the water. Private lessons (one-on-one lessons, available seven days a week from March – October), group sessions and even short 30-minute mini lessons are available. During the lessons, participants learn to paddle, safety, etiquette and surf board positioning and technique. During the summer, the Kids Surf & Beach Camp is a popular option. E-mail or call to make a reservation so your child can enjoy surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling and marine biology education.
